Brothers & Sisters of I.A.F.F. Local F-33,

Our Secretary position is vacant and we are looking for candidates to fill the position. The candidate must be a Local F-33 member in good standing. 

The new officer shall serve for the unexpired portion of the term of the previous officer, as is explained by our Constituion and Bylaws in Section 3.02: "The second regular meeting of each calendar year (March, 2020) nominations for Officers to be elected at the annual meeting shall be taken. The month following (April, 2020) a meeting shall be held and known as Annual Meeting; at such Annual Meeting Officers and Directors shall be elected." We are set to hold elections for Executive Board positions in 2020.

Here is a description for the position of Secretary, per our Constituion and Bylaws: 

Section 5.08. The Secretary shall:

A. Certify and keep at the principal office of the corporation the original, or a copy, of these Bylaws as amended or otherwise altered to date.

B. Keep at the principal office of the corporation or at such other place as the Board of Directors may order, a book of minutes of all the meetings of the Directors and Members recording therein the time and place of holding, whether regular or special, and, if special, how authorized, notice thereof given, the names of those present at the meetings of Directors, the number of members present at meetings of Members, and the proceedings thereof.

C. See that all notices are duly given in accordance with the provisions of these Bylaws or as required by law.

D. Be custodian of the records and of the seal of the corporation and see that the seal is affixed to all duly executed documents, the execution of which on behalf of the corporation under its seal is authorized by law or by these Bylaws.

E. Keep at the principal office of the corporation a membership book containing the name and address of each member, and, in any case where membership has been terminated, he shall record such fact in the book together with the date on which the membership ceased.

F. Exhibit at all reasonable times to any Director of the corporation, or to his agent or attorney, on request thereof, the Bylaws, the membership book, and the minutes of the proceedings of the Directors and of the members of the corporation.

G. Exhibit at all reasonable times to any voting member, or to his agent or attorney, on written demand therefor for a purpose reasonably related to the interests of such member, the Bylaws and the minutes of meetings of the Directors or of the members, and shall exhibit said records at any time when required by demand of twenty (20) percent or more of the voting members of the corporation.

H. In general, perform all duties incident to the office of Secretary and such other duties as may be required by law, by the Articles of Incorporation of this corporation or by these Bylaws, or which may be assigned to him from time to time by the Board of Directors.

I. The Secretary, by virtue of his election, shall be the second delegate of this Local to the Conventions of the International Association of Fire Fighters, and Federated Fire Fighters of California.
